Shortwave Radio Information and Links

Shortwave radio DXing has been a hobby of mine since the mid 70s. I started with analog radios over 20 years ago which while quick to tune but were difficult to DX repeatedly. I decided to get a digitally tuned radio when they started to become affordable. The first digitally tuned radio I bought was the Sony ICF-2010 which I bought in in 1986. It has been with me ever since. This is a very reliable radio and is reasonably portable. It is also heavy and bit fragile so from a practical stand point it is more of a table-top. Performance wise it approaches those of some of the table-top units. The biggest plus is its synchronous detection feature and  easy to use interface.

I started the Sony ICF-2010/2001D egroup in December 1999 which as a forum has a lot of useful information with knowledgeable users who contribute to make this group interesting. Membership is unrestricted so do consider joining if you own or plan to buy this radio. For the latest forum - please visit SonyICF2010_2001D usergroup
